USL League Two
USL2 is adding a total of 28 teams to the 2022 season. That brings the total of teams playing this year to 113.
There are 3 new teams, making 9 the total of teams in the Southeast Division. This year we will return to the 14-game regular season. 7 home and 7 away.
Caledonia SC is the USL2 team of the Florida Celtic Bolts Soccer club. They have one of the largest recreation programs in the Tampa Bay Area with 4 different playing locations. As far as we know, the USL2 team will be playing out of the Lakeland area. Many of you will remember the former Lakeland Tropics and the enthusiasm for the sport in that area.
Nona FC, Lake Nona is a fast-growing mix-use planned community near the Orlando International Airport. Our youth teams have played several matches with their youth teams recently. Their proximity to our club and the competition between our youth clubs has all the makings of a new rivalry for the Buffalo.
Miami Athletic Club, not to be confused with FC Miami City, is the new addition in South Florida. They are an expansion of the Miami United FC youth academy programs.
Both the Caledonia SC and the Miami AC will also be playing in the USLW which is a women’s league equivalent to the USL2.
Tomorrow, January 22nd, we will host our first tryouts of the season as we get ready to take on these newbies 🙂
