Returning Players

Our roster is taking shape and there are several new players that we would like to tell you about but for now, we will focus on some familiar faces you might see this coming Tuesday on the field.

We will continue to tell you about players as they get the “green light” from the league and from our coaches. Here we go:

We could not start our 2022 Season player’s announcement any other way.

Lopes is the most recognizable player in our club having played EVERY season since we entered USL League Two. Not only that but he has started nearly every single match in his 5 years with the Buffalo.

Another highlight is the return of defender Vandyke Gyau. Those who have been with us for a few years will be excited to see him back with the Buffalo. His strong presence on the field is a powerful representation of the Buffalo Spirit.
In 2019 during our game versus Tampa Bay Rowdies in the second round of the US Open Cup he was the scorer of the lone goal for our team coming all the way from the back with a nice header to prevent a clean sheet for the professional opponent.
Gyau played two seasons but was not able to return in 2021 due to an injury. Now fully recovered, he is ready to get to work on what he calls “unfinished business” as he is ready to take us to the USL2 Championship.

This will be Oliveira’s second year with us. His technical finesse and dedication did not go unnoticed last season as he was the only player from all the teams in the Southeast Division to be selected to the “Southern Team of the Year.”

Bringing back his energy and skills this season once more is Austin Lukasik. Last season Lukasik was selected “Man of the Match” not once but twice! One of those times was in the final game of the season where he didn’t give up and never slowed down.

Rafael Vacas is most commonly known by the team simply as “Tete”. He was selected as “Man of the match” last season because of his “precision and mighty touch”. Let’s see that mighty touch in action once again!
